Water in dry weather  - One good soak, not 'little' and 'often'

Continue to control weeds - Make sure none set to seed

Stake Brussels Sprouts - One strong stake alongside each plant

Inspect summer Cauliflower  at least twice a week, harvest as soon as ready.

Sow varieties of Chinese cabbage.

Harvest Courgettes before they become marrows.

Harvest peas when the pods are well filled but still fresh and green.

Harvest onions before the end of August, leave in the sun to ripen.

Onions harvested before the end of August keep for longer than those in September.

 

 

 

For best flavour, leave tomatoes to fully ripen on the plant.
